Rivet CV Tailor: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-31
Rivet CV Tailor is a browser extension and web service that tailors your CV to a specific job description. This page describes what data it reads, stores, and why.
What we collect
- Email address: used to sign you in (a passwordless "magic link" sent to your inbox) and to identify your account.
- Your CV: the text you upload is encrypted at rest and stored so it can be tailored against future job descriptions without re-uploading. If you upload a PDF, we also detect its font, size, and layout so the tailored output visually matches it; the original PDF file itself is discarded immediately after upload, only the extracted text and font information are kept.
- Job description text: either pasted by you, or read from the current browser tab only when you click "Extract job description." The extension never reads a page's content automatically or in the background.
- Tailored CV output: the result of each tailoring request is stored so you can re-download it.
- Billing status: whether you have an active subscription. Payments are processed by Paystack or Lemon Squeezy (whichever you choose); we never see or store your card details.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
- We don't invent or add anything to your tailored CV that isn't already in your original CV.
- The extension only requests access to a web page's content for the single tab you explicitly ask it to read from, at the moment you ask.
Third parties involved in providing the service
- An LLM provider (OpenAI) processes your CV text and the job description to generate tailored content.
- Paystack and Lemon Squeezy process subscription payments.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
Your data, your control
You can delete your stored CV at any time from within the extension. Deleting your account removes your stored data.
